Woodside Farm is a stone farmhouse cottage in Baldwins Gate, Staffordshire, sensitively refurbished and extended by Epoch Architecture. Poor-quality earlier extensions were replaced with a new extension containing a farmhouse-style kitchen and dining area, plus two extra bedrooms, while the rural character of the CPRE-plaqued cottage was kept.

A CPRE-recognised farmhouse cottage in Baldwins Gate

Woodside Farm Cottage had previously been awarded a CPRE Plaque by the Campaign to Protect Rural England. Unfortunately, some poor-quality earlier extension works were having a detrimental effect on the original building.

Careful refurbishment of the original stone cottage

Careful and sensitive refurbishment works were completed to the original stone cottage at Woodside Farm. The existing room-in-the-roof accommodation was also refurbished.

A new extension for modern farmhouse living

A new extension at Woodside Farm created a modern-day farmhouse-style kitchen and dining area, along with a WC and utility room at ground floor level. At first floor level, the extension provides two additional bedrooms and a family bathroom.

Keeping the rural character of an old farmhouse

The rural character of Woodside Farm was kept while it underwent major extension and refurbishment works. The property has a prominent position, with breathtaking views over the Staffordshire countryside.
