HILLSIDE VIEW BARN

Perched on the top of a hill overlooking the Cheshire plain it is not an understatement to say that the location of this property is something special. The building was a former agricultural barn and is now to be converted into a luxury 5 bedroom property by a local developer. Our client was looking for a modern/contemporary interior and exterior while also retaining the traditional characteristics of the buildings history – as always we were more than happy to rise to the challenge!
 
The existing barn door openings have been retained and exploited to provide a modern aesthetic with the use of sliding cedar panels on traditional overhead running gear and uninterrupted fully glazed units within the openings. A modest extension has been added to the building to provide an entrance and a large open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with full height glazed openings to take-in that impressive vista. The roof and extension are finished in an anthracite grey zinc cladding which provides a harmonious contrast alongside the traditional facing brickwork walls.
 
The project is due for completion in late 2020 and further photographs and details will follow on completion – I hope you are as excited as we are to see the end result!
